Podcast Highlight: The Sound Culture

I admit that I am far behind on a few things. Music, movies, fashion and whatever else that requires you to be in the know is not my strong point. But I’m content. Everything is new to everyone at some point right?

Well, today I discovered a podcast that I quickly fell in love with. It’s been around for some time so this isn’t some cool, underground type of thing. If anything I’m not really promoting the show, but just praising it. The podcast is “The Sound Culture“. It’s podcast featuring some of the best world music in, well, the world! Take a listen and you’ll hear some reggae, hip-hop, and electronica infused with sounds from the far East. Either click on the link above or take a listen here at Odeo.

Oh yeah! If you visit their website you can download all your favorite tracks from the podcasts. Bonus!

Back up and quiet down. Thanks. (Updated)

*Here’s the link to the post w/ video regarding this post:

I wish I had a video to publish with this post, but the issue at hand must be discussed. I want to bring attention to something that I feel effects quite a few Washingtonians. Have any of you ever arrived to a Metro station in the early morning and had to deal with 2 to 3 newspaper distributors? I mean one is enough, but when you have multiple men (as I have yet to see a female distributor) giving out newspapers it just seems like overkill! Now, I understand that newspapers like The Washington Post and the Enquirer need to get their papers distributed, but when they are blocking commuters entrance to a station there’s a problem. Take me there.

I haven’t written a new post in who knows how long. Much has happened between now and my last post. Has it been an interesting span of time? I would say no, but there have been a few really cool things that have happened. Actually, just yesterday I participated in a three school discussion on two Supreme Court cases. Sounds simple, huh? Not quite. This discussion wasn’t one between the three schools involved but with three Supreme Court Justices. Yes, you read that correctly…THREE….JUSTICES! Read the rest of this entry »

Goshers! I’m so happy! Project Runway is back and I’m crazy happy. I may have to force myself to watch every single episode, but I don’t I’ll have to much to stress about. Well, other than the fact that I’ll be starting school in a week. That may get in the way of my PR watching habits. Especially because I’ll be at American Uni. and my regular high school. Oh yeah…two schools.

The fear grows more and more every day I get closer to the first day of class. But I can’t wait! I’m so going to hang with all the college kids. Can you say poser much?

On Twitter addiction and stickers.

Today I received my stickers from I’m way too happy. There’s a billion round stickers and I don’t know what to do with them. I think I’m going to put one on my locker. I just hope no one googles’ the address! HAHA!

Also, I’ve become quite addicted to Twitter. I can’t believe it. That’s all I have to say. I’m addicted. Don’t forget to follow me…joelxx

If stress had a house…

It would be my brain. But I don’t think stress is the right word for me right now. Anxious, maybe? I can not really tell you. I can not even tell myself. I missed a day of school today by accident, of course. I don’t purposely miss school. I’m not that kind of kid. I actually felt guilty for not going to school. Even worse, later today I received a progress report from school for this quarter…so far, so bad. I four C’s, an A, and a B. Good in most peoples’ eyes but not mine. To me, these grades are just as bad as F’s. I have to make these up. Read the rest of this entry »
