AP English and stuff like that.

Next week is finals week. Hoop-ha-hooray! Don’t be fooled by that exclamation mark though, because I am not happy. Not only do I not feel ready, but once we are done with the tests we juniors have to go back to our non-profits. In the same week!

Oh yeah, prom is on the Friday of that week. Plus I have an ACLU meeting to go to…on Friday night. I mean come on! Whatever, I’ll deal with it.

But in good news, I’ll be taking AP English next year!! Hell yea baby. I can’t wait for college level reading and discussions. And my teacher for next year is hella awesome. He’s a hardcore kind of reader. You know the type that loves to read…a lot. That’s all good though because I feel like this may be the class I’ve been craving to take. No more kids who don’t appreciate great literature. Goshers.

I had just been on a trip to Minnesota where I can only kindly describe most of the people that I saw as little houses-Ana Wintour

My god the nerve of the lady. I can’t believe she said that…wait, yes I can! But it’s okay. I still respect her. And I still love Vogue. If you haven’t watched her 60 Minutes interview yet then, please, watch it! It’s a nice chance to see some human in the lady we all think is a robot. A robot in Chanel! (Ooohh, I’m making that a song!)

On Twitter addiction and stickers.

Today I received my stickers from EastVillageBoys.com. I’m way too happy. There’s a billion round stickers and I don’t know what to do with them. I think I’m going to put one on my locker. I just hope no one googles’ the address! HAHA!

Also, I’ve become quite addicted to Twitter. I can’t believe it. That’s all I have to say. I’m addicted. Don’t forget to follow me…joelxx

DCist!!!

Hey everyone! Happy rainy Thursday if you’re in the Washington DC region. Grr rain!

Anyways, today is definitely one the happiest days of my life. And I’m not over reacting! Today I received an email from Heather Goss of DCist in response to an email that I sent her a few days ago. In the original email I asked if it would be possible to get a mention in the Arts Agenda section of the DCist blog and guess what, I got a mention! Here’s the little bit about me:

We love to hear about budding local photographers, like high school junior Joel Carela, who emailed us about his first solo show at the Latin American Youth Center’s Art + Media House on 14th and Columbia Streets NW.
