Read Me!

July 8, 2009 · Leave a Comment

This one goes out to those who have RSS aggregators that have way too many unread items. Yes, you know you have one of those. Either you lost interest in a particular feed or you just haven’t logged in a long time, I’m sure your unread count is out of the roof! Gosh, when I logged into Google Reader today, my count was at an outstanding 500 and something. I cut that number down by two hundred after deleting one feed entirely and marking another one as being read. Puppies and kittens die when feeds are un-subscribed, but it must be done. I know I always feel sad when I have to. Oh, if only I wasn’t so lazy and just read more.

Anyone have this problem? I know I’m not alone here!

Because I didn’t want to go down to the dungeon that is my basement to use the internet, I am writimg this post from my iPod Touch. That may seem cool but I’m making so many mistakes on my side of the Internet it’s not even funny. It’s actually making me a bit angry.

But I’m doing it for a good reason other than laziness. Since the Tour de France started I’ve been getting up earlier, but I’ve also been going to sleep kind of late. Obviously, that eqaution doesn’t work. I whole heartedly blame the Internet. There, I said it. The Internet is evil and has me in it’s strong grip. No use of helping me now.

My fingers are tired so I’m going to stop here for the night. But if you want to follow me even more, like a stalker, follow me on Twitter. Just search Joelxx. That’s me. Good night.

And now we start again.

July 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Lately I’ve been pretty lazy about blogging. I’ve logged into Wp like, a million times already. But every time I log in I don’t write anything. So not cool. If there is one thing I need to get over is my chronic inconsistent blog posting. I’ll like three good posts one week and then the next week I’ll have nothing, you know? And it also seems like all of my page visits are only page visits.  And to make things worse (or less valuable), those views are from sites that just refresh themselves, showing dozens of blogs. I don’t want to sound like I’m  complaining here, mostly because it’s my fault, but it really makes me kind of sad.

The obvious solution is to write and to read and comment on other blogs. HA! That’s the other problem I have: I know how to solve my own problems but for some reason I don’t take my own advice. Kinda crazy huh?

And here’s a little random update: I’m really digging Celtic music. I mean, I’ve always had a soft spot for Flogging Molly, but recently (today) I’ve been listening to more Celtic rock on Pandora. My interest was sparked a bit after I attended the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on this past Thursday. I was pretty much stuck in the Wales-Cymru portion of the festival. HA. I’ll throw up some of those pictures onto Flickr soon.

Alright, goodnight Internet.

Summer in DC has officially started.

 summer

Wanna know my indicator for finding out when summer has begun here in the District? The sound of fireworks going off.  Oh yeah, for some reason here in DC cops still aren’t cracking down on people using firecrackers here in the city. I mean, I know it isn’t illegal and I don’t really mind them much, but when your trying to go to sleep at 10 or 11 at night you don’t want to hear mini-bombs going off. But every year around the end of May and beginning of June (and sometimes even April) the fireworks go off! Keep reading →
